There are countless dining options in Las Vegas. Make sure that Searsucker, in Caesar’s Palace, is one of your stops. Fabulous food, wonderful service. It is extremely rare that I leave Oklahoma once August hits, because I’m so busy getting ready for football season. But I will occasionally make an exception…of course a trip to …

It’s no secret, especially when you look at my blog, that I’m not the healthiest eater. It’s hard to have self-control at a restaurant, especially if whoever I’m with is eating something really good. And it’s become so easy to say “its for food blog research”. When I cook at home, on the other hand, …

Located just blocks from downtown Dallas and next to the Dallas Farmer’s Market, Green Door Public House serves up outstanding food in a historic building. In June I spent a weekend in Dallas with Joni & Tony. That Saturday morning I got up early, drove down to the Dallas Farmer’s Market, and of course wrote …

Just 2 blocks from the White House, Old Ebbitt Grill serves locally sourced food and wonderful ambiance in the heart of downtown Washington DC A few weeks ago I was back home in Maryland visiting family and friends. My friend Kara lives in North Carolina, but occasionally comes to town when I’m visiting. This was …

Owned by Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse, Lagasse’s Stadium serves up delicious food and has a fabulous atmosphere for watching games when you’re in Vegas. This past weekend I went to Vegas for a quick group trip. We ran into some drama on the way to the airport, as I realized 20 minutes into the drive that …

Huge portions and fabulous food await you at Hash House a Go Go on the Vegas strip. But get there early, or be prepared for a long wait.  Last weekend I went to Vegas for a quick weekend whirlwind group trip. We had a group of 7, which is kind of a big group, but we …

Ever since I got involved with the Creative Bloggers Network, I’ve been trying to upgrade my blog.  I still have a LONG way to go, since many of my colleagues do this for a living.  And mine is just a side job…for now.  I recently went back through every post, double-checking links, updating pictures, etc.  …

McGill’s is fine dining at dinner, upscale dining at lunch. Either option, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. You won’t be disappointed. This spring I have been doing in-person stewardship visits with our club seat holders. It gets me out of the office, and allows me to meet with our donors on …

This is the first year since moving to Oklahoma that I’ve been able to come back to Maryland for Thanksgiving. The first couple years we played Thanksgiving weekend. And even after Bedlam got moved to the following week, I was still really busy. And since my parents really don’t do much for Thanksgiving, and normally I …

Kara, Heather and Michele are 3 of my favorite people in the world.  Kara and I lived together for a couple of years back in college. We’ve all shared so many great, crazy times and I have to say I’m extremely happy there was no social media back then.  Long story short, Kara was in …

About a year ago I did a post on what I do at the bowl game, and one of the things I talked about was finding bar(s) to be our official party headquarters.  If the hotel and stadium are close enough to each other, we just use the same location for the whole time.  If not, I’ll …

About 10 days ago I woke up at 4am, with my stomach feeling super icky.  I didn’t have nausea, but I could tell my intestines weren’t really happy with me.  I tried to go work out, hoping it would help…poor decision, because I was back home on the couch about 30 minutes later.  Long story short, …

Heather and I have been friends for 17 years, starting when she began working at Maryland…geez that makes me feel old.  We’ve been there for each other through thick and thin, good and bad.  I don’t need to go into details…she knows what I mean. My summer trip back to Maryland almost always coincides with her birthday.  I got …
