I’m so excited to launch the new look of Karyl’s Kulinary Krusade! I kind of felt like I was doing a home remodel…it took me a lot longer than I expected, I went through some serious growing pains, and several times I wanted to just give up and pay someone. I finally I hit the “pick a theme” stage, and all of a sudden it was like I was starting all over again. There are so many themes out there! Plus every day, more are launched. I sort of narrowed down my choices to 3 before I left for the bowl game. Once I came back, I searched again. Big mistake, because within a couple of hours I was back up to 10 again. Thanks to the input of some great friends, I narrowed it down and finally made a decision.
Sure, I could have paid someone to switch platforms and then someone else for a site design. But I didn’t want to spend all that money, and I know just enough code to be dangerous. Besides, it was so much more rewarding for me to do the work myself.
Of course, I’ve still got work to do on the site, as it’s not where I want it to be yet. But now I’m moving forward instead of catching up, and that’s the most important thing.
